I have known my friend Elspeth for about fifteen years. We met at an exercise class and struck up a friendship. Although we are very different we get on very well and have had some excellent times together. We have been on holiday together, signed up to weight watchers together and together we completed a charity bike ride from London to Paris. It was very exciting albeit rather exhausting.
I have always known that Elspeth was a little eccentric. For example she loves animals but instead of keeping a cat or a dog she has an owl. Its a beautiful creature but absolutely not house trained. It does not seem to bother Elspeth in fact I think she has not even noticed. She also collects items to restore. Whilst there is nothing directly strange about this it is the fact that she never actually gets around to restoring them and that bits of furniture, clothes, ornaments are strewn all across her house. Again it does not seem to bother her.
However the most eccentric thing about Elspeth is her car. It is legendary. It is a Morris Minor in a very bad condition. Apparently she has owned it since it was new and seemingly she never intends to part with it. It is absolutely falling apart. Many people have offered her good money for it just in order to restore it to its former glory but she is absolutely determined to hang on to it. The call is full with stuffed teddies, old rubbish and she even grows plants on the parcel shelf! She says its different and her Ford Car Leasing car stands out from all the modern ones which are around. It most certainly does.
