Hybrid Cars Are A Lot Of Money For What They Are

Almost 10% of all car on the roads in the UK today are hybrid cars. This is because Hybrid cars have become more common due to the advancement in quality of the cars and the reliability. Initially, there were only a few hybrid cars to choose from. Every Hybrid car seemed to be overly expensive and nothing gave customers a real reason to go out an buy one other than the fact they have excellent fuel economy.

The focus today is on car manufacturers becoming greener and producing cars that are far more fuel efficient and therefore attract further buyers. The most popular hybrid car on the market today is the Toyota Prius. The Prius was the first ever hybrid car to enter production. It is capable of producing 72.4 miles per gallon and only admits 89g/km of CO2. However, Toyota have now released a cheaper and smaller version of the Prius called the Auris which is designed to offer the exact same statistics.

Following the great success of the Toyota Prius especially with Taxi firms, other manufacturers are cashing in on the idea. Honda are introducing a Hybrid CR-Z which is going to be the first ever sport hybrid car. Lexus are also planning to offer new hybrid cars as well as Porsche who are going to release a Panamera S Hybrid and Cayenne S Hybrid.

Hybrid cars work by combining engine power with battery power and as a result producing maximum fuel economy as the fuel is not actually being burnt all the time that the car is on battery mode. A lot of people believe that hybrid cars are a lot of money for what they are because lets face it, none of them are exactly stunning looking cars!

Next time you visit one of your local car supermarkets , try and get a chance to test drive the Toyota Prius and you will see exactly what others are thinking.
